Point of Domination (DFT 105)

Course Objective

This course is intended to develop an understanding of how to move from a point of defense to a point of domination in order to subdue an adversary.

This course consists of five (5) video lessons with an assessment at the conclusion of each lesson.

 

Countering a Surprise Attack

Lesson Purpose:

This video lesson provides instruction on the proper technical execution of countering a surprise attack based upon the "SPEAR" Counter developed by Tony Blauer, which is necessary for developing a sound base in defensive tactics. The lesson also provides a training protocol for proper development of the skills presented.

Training Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to understand the proper mechanics of the "SPEAR" Counter, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  2. Students will be able to properly execute a technically sound "SPEAR" Counter against aggressive assault, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  3. Students will be able to properly train and develop a technically sound "SPEAR" Counter, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher. 

 

Moving to a Point of Domination

Lesson Purpose:

This video lesson provides instruction on the proper technical execution of moving to a point of domination, which is necessary for developing a sound base in defensive tactics. The lesson also provides a training protocol for proper development of the skills presented.
 

Training Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to understand the proper mechanics involved in moving to a point of domination, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  2. Students will be able to move to a point of domination utilizing proper technique, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  3. Students will be able to properly train and develop the skill set needed to move to a point of domination, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.

 

Point of Domination to Basic Take Downs

Lesson Purpose:

This video lesson provides instruction on the proper technical execution of taking a resistive subject to the ground with a controlled take down from a point of domination, which is necessary for developing a sound base in defensive tactics. The lesson also provides a training protocol for proper development of the skills presented.
 

Training Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to understand the proper mechanics of moving from a point of domination to a basic take down, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  2. Students will be able to properly execute a technically sound take down from a point of domination, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  3. Students will be able to properly train and develop the skills necessary for taking down a resistive subject from a point of domination, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.

 

Point of Domination to Striking or Disengagement

Lesson Purpose:

This video lesson provides instruction on the proper technical execution of striking from a point of domination and how to disengage, which is necessary for developing a sound base in defensive tactics. The lesson also provides a training protocol for proper development of the skills presented.

Training Objectives:

  1. Students will be able to understand the proper mechanics of moving from a point of domination to utilizing strikes or disengaging, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  2. Students will be able to properly execute a technically sound strikes from a point of domination and how to disengage if necessary, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
  3. Students will be able to properly train and develop the skills necessary for striking a resistive subject from a point of domination or disengaging if necessary, passing an online assessment with a score of 90% or higher.
